#14/365 – Morning Milk
9 12 20081 Peter 2:1-3 says “1 So get rid of all malicious behavior and deceit. Don’t just pretend to be good! Be done with hypocrisy and jealousy and backstabbing. 2 You must crave pure spiritual milk so that you can grow into the fullness of your salvation. Cry out for this nourishment as a baby cries for milk, 3 now that you have had a taste of the Lord’s kindness.” (NLT)
Not much to say today – it is SOOOOOOOO important that we always seek to grow in life – if we just settle for this life being ‘as good as it gets’ we will never really achieve much or make a difference in the world! Emily needs milk, but to be really honest… the thing that really stands out with our wee thing is the absolute CRAVING that she has when she desires a feed… I could only DREAM of having this same desire in my life for the saviour I chase after!!!

Ohope Beach
21 10 2008I love OHOPE beach. It is where we spend our summers and where we have so many happy memories. This was taken at the beginning of winter though, so not as warm… however, the Golden tones in this shot just make me melt!
Cheers for another week!

Together Forever
13 10 2008My lovely wife and my daughter at the Ambury Farm Park open day.
who knows what lies ahead, but whatever it is, it will involve a mum and daughter that are absolutely perfect together!
I think uncertainty is one of the biggest fears we can face when we lose a loved one… I saw my wife and daughter in a ‘little tender moment’ together and realised that uncertainty is put in it’s right perspective when we learn to share life together… family, friends, workmates…
When I lost my Dad as a 25 year old, the knowledge that I wasn’t alone was all I needed to get through each new day. It didn’t make the process less painful, but it made it a darn sight more bearable! There is still a “Dad-shaped” hole in my world, but the people I share my life with help me live to honour his memory!

Nelson Lakes Jetty @ Western Bay
6 10 200818secs @ f8 @ 105mm – ISO 200
I went for a lovely VERY EARLY morning walk whilst staying at Rotoiti Lodge for work in early July and practiced a few long exposures… I came back with a whole bunch of keepers which was VERY pleasing!
This is one of my favourites… Someone had made a bit of an explicit snow-people sculpture which I thankfully left out of the composition on this one… it was a bit anotomically confused though… I won’t elaborate!

Oriental Bay Tree
1 10 200810 second exposure @ f5 @ 18mm – ISO 200
After work one night in Windy Wellington I grabbed my drive-through KFC and went to sit and eat at Oriental Bay – a beautiful night with no wind or rain and this is the product… Long exposures are a big part of what I love about Photography and I think the way this picture turned out is pretty sweet!

The Gecko…
18 09 2008Taken in the Auckland Museum on the D40x with 55-200mm Zoom. ISO Auto picked 900 @ f5.6 and 1/15s.
Processed in Photoshop CS2 with a conversion to LAB and back to RGB to pop the colours a bit… I think I actually have a preset for this now…
I cloned out a couple of distractions in the shot as well (a big light blob and a leaf). Read the rest of this entry »
